Butterflies with your own hands - beautiful and simple

In recent years decorative capron butterflies have become very popular. You can buy them in souvenir and florist shops, and even more interesting - make your own. The technology for making such a craft is so simple that even a child can handle it, so mothers-needlewomen can decorate their home with light airy butterflies made together with their kids.

Today we will look at what you need to make this cute decor element and how, in fact, butterflies are made with your own hands. To begin with, we will prepare the materials and tools that will be needed in the process.

We need:

- aluminum or copper wire, fairly thin and flexible;

- nylon tights, you can use worn out ones;

- aniline dye for synthetic fabrics (if the color of nylon for some reason does not suit you);

- old pencil or cocktail tube;

- glue "Moment" helium or silicone gun;

- a needle with a thread of a suitable color;

- stationery glue with glitter or sequins.

Before starting work, nylon can be dyed in the desired color anddry.

Depending on what size we will have a butterfly, you need to choose a rigid form for making wings. You can take a glass, a glass jar, and even a large saucepan if you are going to make a DIY butterfly costume. We wrap the wire around the shape, fix the resulting circle with two or three turns of the wire and repeat the same action to get “points”. We need two pieces of such blanks to make wings. They can be given any shape, but sharp corners should be avoided so that the fabric can evenly fit the resulting frame.

Do-it-yourself butterflies are most easily obtained from nylon, but you can use any thin knitted fabric that drapes easily. With the prepared flap, we tighten the blanks and fix the fabric with a thread around the base of the wing. Carefully cut off the excess material and connect the upper and lower pairs of wings with a few stitches.

The "body" of our craft should close the seams and give it a finished look, so you need to calculate its correct size. To do this, take a pencil or a tube and cut off a fragment of the desired length. We wrap the workpiece with scraps of fabric, carefully lay the top layer and glue it. In order for the butterfly to have antennae, we pass a small piece of wire through the edge of the body and fix it with glue. Any shape can be given to the antennae, and the tips can be decorated with beads or sequins.

Glue the finished body to the wings, then let the craft dry well.

Now that our butterfly, made and assembled with our own hands, has all the details rigidly fixed, you can add sparkle and originality to it.

Depending on your imagination, you can paint the wings with glitter glue or glue beads and beads on them.

If this is a New Year's costume, two elastic loops should be sewn from the wrong side of the wings so that you can put the wings on your shoulders like a backpack.

We attach the butterfly hairpin to the metal duck with glue or silicone so that the metal is not visible from under the product.

For decorating curtains, it is best to use magnets, which also stick well to the fabric.

I think you are convinced that a butterfly with your own hands is not only simple, but also very exciting. Have fun with your crafts!
