In the 90s of the XX century, a Scandinavian needlewoman sewed a doll from scraps of unusable fabric and named her Tilda. The name became a household name, and toys conquered the whole world. Probably in every house there is a hand-made or purchased doll - a tilde. They bring coziness and a touch of antiquity to the interior.

As soon as the details of the toy are cut out, you can start sewing and stuffing the doll. Some parts can be machine-sewn, such as the torso.

Patterns are folded together with the right side inward, the parts can be fastened with tailor's studs or assembled on a thread. The bottom edge does not need to be completed. The body should be turned inside out and stuffed evenly.

The rest of the toy is done in the same way. Particular attention should be paid to paired details: arms, legs and wings. Flaws and a sloppy seam can cause the arms and legs to look asymmetrical. In order for the legs to bend, a line must be laid in the middle of each limb.

The tilde skirt, like other clothes, is made separately. You can not sew finished items to the doll, but simply dress it. For beginners, it is better to simplify the work and carefully sew on the skirt as shown in the image above. The main thing is to try to make the seam as inconspicuous as possible.

The arms and wings of the tilde doll also need to be sewn very carefully. The seam must be even, the position of the parts is symmetrical relative to the body of the toy.

Hairstyle is an important element of the image of a tilde doll. Knitting yarn can be used to imitate hair, but natural wool, which can be purchased at needlework and hobby stores, is best.
