Despite the popularity of this model and the mystery of the drawing, its implementation is not the most difficult thing. Perhaps this is precisely its highlight - the result of simple work was a practical and at the same time stunning model. Model description

Gorgeous cozy knitted cardigan, made with large wide braids, launched all over the knitted fabric in different directions, is an unusual accessory, becausecreates folding and additional volume. Description of the work Let's start with the fact that the seemingly huge work is actually not so great, since the model is made from fairly thick yarn. Braids, used as the main motif of the pattern, change direction from the center of the back, and the shelves are connected in a mirror image.

Yarn and knitting needles

For work, we choose a model of 42-44 sizes with approximate volumes of 85-66-92. A one-color Lalo cardigan is best made from yarn of medium thickness: Alize Lanagold yarn (100 g / 240 m) in one addition looks great in braids. It has proven itself to be of good quality thread, moderately voluminous, well-spun, excellent gliding on knitting needles.

Experienced craftsmen, having mastered the knitting of a cardigan in one color scheme, work in an exclusive version with a smooth color transition, called a gradient. But the transition should be really smooth. For example, the Lalo cardigan, whose photo is presented, wins visually and increases the cost of the model.

Here, novice masters can expect unpleasant surprises - sharp color borders will not decorate the model. To achieve a high-quality transition, they use thin yarn for knitting, the footage of a 100-gram skein of which is 1600 m. Pure woolen thread from the Semenovskaya Yarn manufacturer, for example, the Lydia series, is good. Having picked up 2-3 colors, you can make imperceptible transitions from one color to another, gradually changing them. Knitusually with a thread of 7-8 additions, and alternate gradual replacement of one thread at a time gives an excellent result - a slight virtuoso gradient. Volumetric braids require sufficient friability of the knitted fabric, therefore the optimal size of the knitting needles for its implementation are considered to be No. 4-5.

Each knitter, applying her own experience, chooses the optimal pattern, focusing on the size. To complete the model of the declared size, we choose a braid of 32 loops (16/16) as the main motif of the pattern, which we will overlap on the 30th row of repeating rapport.

To achieve more prominent braids, you can lash them through fewer rows, but since our example is presented to gain skill in doingmodel, we will adhere to just such a pattern: in each 30th front row, all the braids on the part being performed overlap. They do it this way: 16 loops are removed on a non-working knitting needle, which is taken out for work or in front of it, the remaining 16 loops are knitted, and then 16 loops are made from an additional knitting needle.

A feature of the pattern is the separation of the knitting direction of the braids from the center, i.e. the left side of the back is knitted with the braids tilted to the left, and the right side with the braids tilted to the right. The desired slope is achieved by transferring the loops on a non-working needle behind the canvas or in front of it. The braids are directed to the left if the loops are taken out before work, to the right - the knitting needle with the loops is placed behind the knitted fabric. So, how to knit a Lalo cardigan?

This piece, like all cardigan details, is knitted from the bottom. We make the calculation of the loops: 6 braids of 32 loops + 5 tracks between them, 2 loops each + 2 edge=(632) + (52) +2=204 loops. loops, starting to knit like this: 1 edge,32 persons., 2 out. (repeat 5 times),32 persons., 1 edge.

Having knitted to the armhole, make gradual decreases of 34 loops (or one braid + 2 loops of the track) on each side. As a result, the upper part of the back will consist of 4 braids. Decrease scheme: in the first row, 8 loops, then in every second row, 2 loops are reduced 13 times. Next, the canvas runs straight to the end of the armhole height and closes in one row.

Braids for knitting the left shelf are made with the right slope, i.e. loops of half of the braidwhen overlapping, they remain at work, the right one - with a left slope (an additional knitting needle in front of the canvas).

Each half of the front is formed by 4 braids, the outermost of which, when the corresponding height of the canvas is reached, goes down and 3 braids remain in the upper part.

Having knitted the fabric to the shoulder line, the loops of two braids are closed, and the third is left open, gathered on a pin, as they will be knitted later and form a collar.

The number of loops for knitting a shelf is 136. The scatter of loops is as follows: 1 cr.,32 persons., 2 out. (repeat 3 times),32 persons., 1 cr.

The armhole is knitted similarly to the pattern on the back, closing 8 loops once and 2 loops 13 times.

Sleeve

The sleeve, consisting of 3 braids, is formed with an okat. The braids of the left sleeve are made with the right slope, the right - with the left. 102 loops are cast on the knitting needles and knitted as follows: 1 cr.,32 persons., 2 out. (repeat 2 times),32 persons., 1 cr. Without additions, they knit about 25 cm, then they begin to form a sleeve, adding purl loops along the edges. On average, the canvas is increased on each side, adding one loop 12 times in each 4th row.

Having knitted to the required height (approximately 45-46 cm), begin decreasing to form: 4 loops once, 3 - 2 times, 1st - 3 times, after which the fabric of the sleeve will be 3 braids, and the number of loops correspond to 102. 10-16 rows are directly knitted (depending on the height), then they start knitting an okat: in each 4th row they decrease by1st loop 8 times, then in each 2nd - 1st loop 15 times, 2 loops - 12 times. The remaining 30 loops are closed.

Cardigan Lalo spokes: collar

The model is knitted with a collar, in which the remaining open loops of the central braids of two shelves participate. They continue to be knitted to the required length to the center of the back, then the loops are closed, sewn together and sewn to the neck.
