Weaving is a very interesting activity. A person can realize his creative potential at his leisure by creating various useful original gizmos. In addition, this hobby requires almost no costs, because the material from which various items are created is ordinary newspapers that we find in our mailboxes.

Making newspaper tubes

Basket of newspaper tubes is made according to the principle of weaving baskets from twigs. The difference is only in the material used in weaving. Therefore, it is important to prepare the tubes first. To do this, cut the newspaper into strips about ten centimeters wide along the long side, then place the knitting needle on the lower left corner of the newspaper strip at an angle of 45 degrees and wind it tightly. The remaining edge of the strip is fixed with glue. A basket of newspaper tubes can be of various shapes andsize, so it's hard to say exactly how many tubes will be needed to make it.

The process of weaving the base of the basket

The easiest way to make a basket of newspaper tubes with a square or rectangular base. To begin with, take 10 tubes and put them next to each other in parallel. The next tube must be laid perpendicular to this ten on top of them, and then carefully bring each even of 10 to the top. We take another one and begin to weave over the first, bringing up the already odd tubes of a dozen - in a checkerboard pattern. When we weave baskets from newspaper tubes, the product often breaks into pieces in the process. To prevent this from happening, it is recommended to fasten the workpiece with a stapler or glue from time to time. Having received the desired size of the base of the future basket, you should lift the tubes up and continue to tightly weave in a circle into the walls of the basket. At the end of the tube, another one should be inserted into its socket, lubricating the junction with glue. When the desired height is reached, with the help of a knitting needle, the remaining tips of the tubes are tucked into the basket. There is an option for painting the product with acrylic paint, diluted in equal proportions with PVA glue. Several layers should be applied: both for beauty and strength.
