The thinnest wings covered with a mother-of-pearl pattern, fragile antennae, graceful fluttering - you can admire it endlessly. Like a memory of warm summer and spring days, butterflies made of corrugated paper delight the eye.

Butterfly Making Technology: Origami

The easiest way to make this decoration is to use the origami technique. Folding a butterfly out of paper, the photo of which is presented below, begins with cutting out a stencil. We trace the figure on the front side of thin wrapping or corrugated paper, carefully cut it out.

It turned out an uneven "eight", the upper smaller part of it we begin to fold horizontally with an "accordion". To make the strips even, you can use a ruler. We tie the finished part in the middle with a thread, then spread the wings.

You can roll up a butterfly from paper of different geometric shapes - a rhombus, a square, a circle. You can experiment with shades and texture of paper. We make the antennae from elongated beads strung on a wire.

Corrugated paper butterflies: easy and simple

This method is similar to the previous one, but unlike origami crafts, the material should not be folded. Lightweight, almost weightless paper can tear if handled carelessly. From a thin material of 2 colors, in this case contrasting, we cut out 2 rectangular parts, round the ends. We clamp the middle and tie it with a scarlet ribbon. Corrugated paper is perfect for this method.

Cut out the butterfly

Heavy paper is suitable for this manufacturing method. Separate the figure along the lines drawn from the wrong side, then bend vertically in half. It is better to use templates - cutting a butterfly from paper using stencils looks neater.

For this purpose, some craftswomen buy a set of ready-made butterflies, using them as a basis. The gluing of two parts that differ in texture and size gives a special charm to the decoration. The top layer of the product resembles lace with a figured pattern.

Where are crepe paper butterflies used?

1. Artificial swallowtails and urticaria serve as interior decoration. Butterfly frompapers or fabrics can be "planted" on curtains, a computer monitor, decorate a vase in the living room, a newspaper stand and much more. To do this, you can attach a clip to the decoration or twist the wire clasp. Butterflies on a pin are convenient to attach to soft surfaces; glue is suitable for long-term placement. Monochromatic wallpapers decorated with a whole cloud of butterflies, as well as a “breeze” in the form of decorations fastened with threads, look impressive.
