General concepts

Each player is de alt four cards from the deck, only he should see them. In the game Omaha Hi-Lo, the rules are structured in such a way that all players have the opportunity to use two pocket cards, no more, to make combinations. He can combine this pair only with three open board cards. All players, as a rule, before the distribution of cards must make a minimumbet amount.

Omaha Hi-Lo Stages

In Omaha Hi-Lo, the rules and combinations are very similar to poker. When all participants in the game have looked at the cards, they need to complete the auction and place a bet, this stage is called "Pre-flop". The participant of the game has the opportunity to raise the bet, double, skip or put the cards and "fold".

After this, the second stage begins, it is called the "flop". Three open cards are placed on the table. The same betting pattern is repeated, everyone thinks about their next move, making combinations of their pocket and flop cards, and decides how best to proceed in this situation.

Then comes the next stage, the fourth card enters the game, it is called "Turn". When a card has been introduced into the game process, the same pattern is repeated. Every active player who has not left the game is thinking about how to proceed. The action is performed clockwise from the player who de alt the cards.

Once the bets have been placed, the final stage of the "River" begins. The last and most decisive fifth card is revealed. At this stage, the most exciting and risky bets are made. Each playing player, respectively, from left to right raises, doubles or folds.

After accepting bets, players show their cards. They are opened by the players sitting from left to right of the person who de alt the cards. Remember, out of the four cards that have been given to you, you will only be able to use two, and only three of those that are called "ford".

When all the playersshow the collected combinations, the bank is divided into two parts. One half is taken by the player who has collected the highest combination of cards. The second is taken by the player with the corresponding low combination, that is, the minimum one.

If the players have collected equivalent combinations of cards, then they must divide the bank into two. Also, if no player has collected cards corresponding to a weak combination, the rules of the Omaha Hi Low game indicate that the entire pot goes to the player who has collected a large combination. After the winner receives the bank, the next distribution begins. The dealer will be the person who sits next, from left to right, after the last dealer.

Omaha Hi-Lo rules, combinations (high)

Omaha Hi-Lo combinations can be either high or low. Note that in this game, the ace is weaker than the deuce. We remind you that to create combinations of cards, you can use only two of the four de alt to you, and three from the "ford".

Types of combinations:

  1. Highest card - when a situation occurs in which a participant in the game does not have collected combinations, he is evaluated by the presence of a card of the highest rank. If it happens that the opponents have equal high cards, the other most powerful card is selected from both players, and the result is decided on it.
  2. Pair - is considered when the participant of the game has collected 2 cards of equal value. In addition to these two cards, 3 cards remain in the hand, notincluded in the combination. If several players have the same combination, the winner is determined by the highest card.
  3. Two pairs - a combination is assigned to a participant in the game if he has two combinations of cards of the same rank. The remaining card is called the "kicker". It determines the winner if the pairs of opponents are equal.
  4. Three of a kind - the player has collected three cards of the same rank. Sometimes also called a "set". If two or more players have combined the same three of a kind, the one who has the highest value card in his hand will win.
  5. Street - when a player has five cards in his hand with a successively increasing level of dignity. In a situation where several players have a straight in their hand, the winner is the one who has the first card of the highest seniority. Ace can be used as a card higher than the king, and lower than the deuce.
  6. Flush - is considered to be a combination if the player has combined 5 cards of the same suit. If several participants in the game succeed in doing this, the one who has the highest card of the highest value will win.
  7. Full house - will be assigned in that situation, if the participant of the game managed to collect one pair and three of a kind. If several players have a Full House, the one who has the highest card in the top three wins. If they are equal in a three of a kind, the highest card is in a pair.
  8. Kare - when a player collects all cards of the same rank, that is, four. If several players have collected this combination, the one who has the highest kicker will win.
  9. Straight - flush is considered the highest combination. Assigned when a participant in the gamecombined 5 cards of the same suit, which are in ascending order of value.

Deck selection

You will need a deck of 52 or 54 cards, poker is played without jokers. Often plastic cards are used. They are the most comfortable in poker.

A deck of poker cards must be of high quality. Before starting the game, inspect each card for marks. This is to prevent players from identifying a card by its back. Often, a new deck is bought for each game so that it does not wear out and does not leave various marks in the form of scuffs or bends on it. There is a fairly large selection of decks with a variety of backs. You must choose the one that you consider the most suitable for your game. Good luck and big pots!
