A coquette is a piece of clothing that differs from the details of the front, back and sleeves in cut, pattern or texture of the material. Coquettes adorn sweaters, jackets, dresses, skirts and many other wardrobe items. This technique is extremely popular both in the world of sewing and in the realm of knitters.

Of course, in order to tie a product with a yoke, this part does not need to be done separately and connected to the main fabrics: such clothes are knitted with a single fabric from the bottom up or in the opposite direction. In the first case, the craftswoman performs successive contractions of the loops to form the neck. When a round yoke is knitted with knitting needles from above, the fabric, on the contrary, expands.

Differences between a round yoke and a regular one

Let's consider the algorithm for creating a product with a classic extension from above:

1. Neck stitches are cast on.
2. Four areas are marked where new elements will be added.
3. Loops are made by knitting crochets or theirformed from broaches.
4. In each front row, the canvas expands by eight elements (in four places, one loop before and after the marked element).

The finished yoke has a square shape and well-defined raglan lines.

Along with this, a round yoke with knitting needles from above is done as follows:

• Set of roll-out loops.
• Increment 8 sts evenly over entire row.
• In the future, the formation of eight new elements in each front row in a checkerboard pattern.

Some publications suggest that craftswomen pull the sagging thread every 3-4 loops, picking it up with a working thread. However, using this technique may result in unintended dots of color on the canvas.
