Such a product as crocheted slippers-boots perfectly combines beauty and functionality. These slippers are practically indispensable in the everyday life of the inhabitants of rural houses. It will also come in handy for apartment dwellers, especially in winter or during off-season periods.

Types of slippers

The growing popularity of such products provoked the emergence of a large number of ways to make them. They are given the appearance of "uggs" or fishnet boots and are performed using different techniques. Craftswomen who own a hook use this tool, others prefer knitting slippers-boots with knitting needles.

Using a crochet hook, indoor boots are easiest to knit in two ways:

• From hexagonal fragments.
• Circular rows.

The resulting products are very different in appearance and manufacturing method. Both methods allow you to create unique and original slippers-boots.

Knitting soles

The sole of the boots can be crocheted or felt insoles can be used. It is also possible that on a knitted soleleather inserts will be sewn on. This will significantly increase the life of the boots. Leather patches can cover the entire surface of the sole or only those areas that are most exposed to abrasion: heels and toes. The knitted sole itself is very simple to make, focusing on the following diagram.

Here, a variant of knitting a children's insole is proposed, but by continuing to work according to the indicated principle, you can get a part of any size. The main technique is to add columns at the toe and heel, as well as using elements of different heights (single crochet and double crochet) to make the sole of the desired shape. The resulting part is needed to create both types of boots.

Slippers-boots from motifs

The diagram below shows a hexagon, which is great for making indoor boots. The advantage of using just such fragments is that when connected, they ideally follow the contour of a person’s leg, and there is no need to invent additional ways to give them the desired shape. You can connect the fragments in the process of knitting the last row or simply sew them with a needle.

You will need five of these motifs for each item. Colors can be varied as you wish. Even such seemingly incompatible shades coexist well here, as in the photo at the beginning of the article. By the way, this distribution of different threads will help to utilize the accumulated yarn residues.

Threethe motives that make up the first level must be connected in such a way as shown in the figure. The bottom one will become the toe of the boots, the other two will be located on the sides of the leg. The second level of hexagonal motifs includes only two fragments. They are sewn to the motifs of the first level, matching them like puzzles.

The ankle of the boots is formed by circular rows, connected along the upper side of the motifs of the second level. Their height can be increased until the product reaches the planned size. It should be noted that the ankle will need to be gradually expanded, since the volume of the calf is larger than the circumference of the leg at the ankle.

The finished boot must be sewn to the sole by any convenient method. The most popular is the processing of the edge of the sole with a buttonhole and the subsequent binding of the boot detail with a hook.

Hand Knitting: Ugg Slippers

Such products can be knitted in circular rows immediately after the sole is made. To form a dividing scar, you need to complete a row without additions with single crochets. In this case, the hook should not be inserted under both “pigtails” of the columns of the previous row, but only under one of them, under the one that will be inside the product. Thus, the pigtail remaining outside forms the border.

A knitted row without additions will be the first on the top of the boots. So work should continue until the canvas reaches a height of four to five centimeters. Further knitting will continue only in the front of the product.

The upper part of the toe of the boots is a flat semicircle. It can be knitted separately and sewn on, or you can make several straight and reverse rows with a reduction in every second column.

The next step is knitting pagolenka. To do this, all the columns of the fabric are connected in one circular row and knit up without additions.

Boot decoration

Slippers-boots can have a leg with any decor that the craftswoman likes. It can be knitted in simple circular rows to the desired height or provided with buttons, as in the photo above. Looks interesting embroidery and appliqués. Slippers-boots with elongated loops on the pagolenka canvas are also popular. Carefully making such loops creates an imitation of thick fringe.
