Making a pattern

So, what do you need to do to make your own jumpsuit for a Yorkie? First, you will need to measure the size of the dog. We will have toput the restless and nimble Yorick on the table and measure:

• back length from walker to ponytail;
• neck, bust and waist;
• the length of the tummy - it is considered to be the distance between the front and hind legs (note that in males this length is somewhat shorter - to the penis);
• breast width;
• length of front and hind legs;
• distance between lugs;
• girth of muzzle and head.

Having shown miracles of resourcefulness and measuring the same small top, you can proceed to the next step - making a pattern of clothes for Yorkies. And it is, admittedly, quite simple.

Pattern drawing

On a large sheet of paper draw the first rectangle - the future sleeves of the overalls, the sides of which will be:

• lengthwise - foot length;
• in width - half the girth of the paw.

If you want to make the sleeves wider, add 3 cm to each side. Trace a slight curve around the top of the figure.

We draw the following rectangle of a pattern for Yorkies, which, in fact, will be the basis of the clothes. Its parties are:

• by length - back length;
• in width - half of the girth of the body.

At the same time, a few more centimeters should be added to the width, which will make the overalls more free, not restricting the movement of an active yorik. Further along the entire width of the pattern, starting fromits upper left corner and to its very bottom, measure the length of the half-girth of the neck, add a few centimeters, thereby ensuring the free movement of the head of our pet, and mark point A there. After that, we divide the length of the back into three even segments and measure one third from the lower right corner in the left direction, put point B there. We connect both points with a line, this line will be under the breast of the dog. In addition to point B, we draw a line connecting it with the right corner. Near the AB line, cut out holes for the paws.

Cutting material and sewing overalls

After all the manipulations, we proceed to cutting the material. The fabric should be folded in half, turning the outside inward. The pattern should be attached to the fold line and circled with chalk on the fabric. At the same time, in no case do not forget to leave allowances for the seams, without them the overalls for the Yorkie will turn out to be small.

On the paws we cut out two identical parts according to the pattern, leaving five centimeters from the bottom to bend. We leave the same amount for the hem and tie at the neckline. On the middle line passing on the chest, you should leave a slightly larger supply of material - this is where the zipper will subsequently be sewn.

Sew together the edges of the sleeves, fold and insert the elastic bands. After we connect all the details, you will get a very beautiful and, most importantly, comfortable jumpsuit for a Yorkie.
