Required tools and materials

Children's Lego ninja costume consists of pants, jacket, cape, protection, swords (or other weapons at the request of the child) and a belt. The jacket and pants can be taken in ordinary, black or another neutral color. The cape and protection should be bright in order to effectively stand out against the black background. Different colors can be used depending on the preference of the child.

For pants and sweatshirts, you can use plain plain cotton fabric. For a cape, dense satin is better. For work, prepare a sewing machine, measuring tape and fabric scissors. To decorate the costume, you can purchase thermal stickers for fabric in the form of a dragon or hieroglyphs and stick them on the cape. The first option. Sewing a kimono

1. First of all, you need to take measurements. We measure the height of the product from the bottom point to the collar, the length of the sleeves and the girth of the chest.
2. Use your measurements to build a pattern. The simplest is considered to be placed below.
3. Carefully transfer the pattern to the fabric and cut it out.
4. Next, you need to tuck and sew the cut edge of the kimono, along the top edge you need to sew a piping. To do this, a strip of fabric 10-12 cm is cut out, folded in the middle and attached to the upper edge of the kimono with a hem inward.

Second option. Hooded sweater

The basis of the costume "Lego Ninjago" can also serve as a jacket with a hood. It will not be difficult to sew such a jacket.

1. We take the same measurements, draw a pattern.
2. Cut out the pieces and sew together in the following order. First, the back part is sewn to the front part, then the sleeves are sewn and finally the hood.
3. The cut edge should be folded over and stitched with an indent of half a centimeter. Additionally, you can thread a drawstring with a length lock inside the hood.

How to sew pants

Suit trousers can be loose-fitting or tailor-made.

1. We take measurements: leg circumference, hip circumference and the length of the pants from the bottom edge to the waist.

2. Make a pattern based on the receivedmeasurements.

   

3. Sewing the top two ribs first, then turn the fabric with the seam in the center and sew the bottom two ribs together.

4. Sew the bottom edges of the trousers with a centimeter indent. Elastic bands are inserted inside the belt. Ninja pants ready.

Sewing a cape

The cape is worn over a sweater with a hood and tied with a bright belt. Outwardly, it looks more like a vest. Thanks to this detail, the Ninjago costume takes on a finished look and looks very elegant and beautiful.

1. To make a pattern, you need to measure the width of the back (for the pattern, add 15 centimeters per shoulder to the value), the height of the product and the circumference of the collar. The cape can be one-piece or with a cutout in the front.

2. The pattern is transferred to the fabric.

   

3. To support the shoulder of the cape, two pieces must be cut out of thick cardboard or flexible plastic.
4. At this stage, the cardboard parts need to be sewn into the folded seams of the vest. Pieces of cardboard and fabric are connected in such a way that the curves of the shoulder match. The cardboard blank is superimposed on the inside. Then the cut edge of the fabric is wrapped on a cardboard blank and sewn with a rough seam.
5. The outer edge of the vest is tucked in with an allowance of 1 cm and hemmed. The material at the neck should not be tucked yet.
6. Cut the cardboard piece like thisin such a way that it becomes 1.5 cm narrower than the fabric in the neck area. After that, the free edge at the neck is tucked onto cardboard and sewn with a hand seam.
7. Sew the outer and inner edge of the vest with a collar and a 1 cm indent.

The front of the ninja cape can be decorated with thermal stickers or embroidery. Embroidered decorations can be sewn on by hand. Thermal stickers are easily glued with a hot iron through gauze or thick fabric. For beauty, you can make protective elements for elbows and knees from fabric of the same color as the cape.

Mask can be made by winding two fabrics: one tied around the mouth, and the second with a scarf or bandana. The chic Lego Ninjago costume and mask are completely ready.
