Mohair is a versatile yarn from which you can knit a warm winter thing, and a light, almost transparent product for spring-autumn. It is for this reason that this type of yarn is very popular with needlewomen. Sweatshirts knitted from mohair will always be relevant, regardless of the season and fashion trends. They can be worn with comfortable jeans, dress pants and skirts. It all depends on the chosen style for the knitted sweater.

Light sweater for every day

What should be a thing for every day? First of all, comfortable. But this is not enough to feel attractive even on weekdays. A cream-colored mohair sweater for a casual look. It can be complemented with an openwork top in dark tones under the bottom and matching trousers. This outfit is suitable for meeting with friends and evening walks.

What will it take?

You only need a little to knit this sweater:

• 6 to 9 skeins of mohair yarn (25 g - 210m);
• needles 6;
• circular needles No. 6 and 5, 40 and 80 cm long.

It should immediately be noted that knitting is done with a double thread. To determine the required number of loops in size, a sample is usually knitted. In this case, if its size is 10 by 10 cm, then 14 loops and 20 rows should fit. Knowing this, it is easy to determine the number of loops to cast on. For the rest, it is imperative to try on the details for yourself as you knit. For clarity, the description shows all calculations for size M.

Knitting details

Cast on 72 sts. Next, knit with a regular elastic band 1x1 (alternating front and back loops) 7 rows. Moreover, the first and last row are purl loops. Continue in stockinette stitch and add 1 stitch on each side. When the back measures 6 cm, add evenly 1 loop 4 times (this is about every 5 cm). As a result, 80 loops should remain on the knitting needles. Continue knitting the back without decreases or additions until its length is 23 cm. In the same way, tie in front and set aside both parts for now.

Now you can start on the sleeves. Cast on 30 sts, then work 7 rows in ribbing like back and front of the sweater. Next, the piece is knitted in stockinette stitch with the addition of one loop on each side. At a distance of 6 cm from the beginning, you should start increasing 1 loop 2 times in a row. It should be done 10 times every 2 cm. When there are 58 loops on the needles, postpone work. The second sleeve is knitted in the same way.

Assembly

To getbeautiful mohair jacket, you need to correctly assemble all the details. This will require circular knitting needles No. 6. Assemble all the details on them in this order: back, sleeve, front and sleeve again. Knit one row of facial loops, and at the junction you need to tie 2 loops together. This is done in order to connect the parts together. There should be 256 stitches in total.

In order not to lose the joints, they must be marked with a pin or a thread of a different color. The connection between the back and the right sleeve is taken as the beginning. Then knit in stockinette stitch on circular needles. A pattern is made on 3 loops along the raglan line:

• in 1st row, yarn over 1, slip 2 sts, 1 st. n., stretch it through the removed loops and 1 more yarn over;
• in the second row, knit all facial.

Simultaneously with knitting raglan, the number of loops in the details should be reduced. To do this, 2 loops before the pattern, remove one, then knit the front one and stretch it through the removed loop. After the pattern, you should simply knit 2 loops together. Thus, it should be reduced in every 4 rows 4 times and in every 2 rows 2 times. As a result, 108 loops will remain on the knitting needles. This is not the end of the mohair sweater.

Knit 1 more row, decreasing the number of loops to 104. Then continue to work with an elastic band 1x1 - 5 more rows. Recast the loops on circular needles No. 5 and knit an elastic band for another 7-8 cm. Close the loops. At the end, stitch the sleeves and side seams. This completes the mohair sweater, the description of which only seems complicated. Even a novice needlewoman will cope with the task.

Original openwork bolero

However, a mohair sweater does not have to resemble a sweater or pullover. It may well be an openwork bolero that will warm you on a cool summer evening. Such a stylish little thing will help create a fusion look that modern stylists love. Those who are not ready for experiments can wear it with a classic turtleneck and a pencil skirt. The image will turn out no worse.

What will it take?

To make this bolero you will need:

• 3 skeins of wool (50g - 175m);
• 3 skeins of mohair (25g - 200m);
• needles 5;
• circular needles 5 (40 cm).

The knitting density is such that 17 l. p. for 22 rows is a square of 10 by 10 cm. This information is useful for calculating the desired size. Size S/M in description for convenience. On the diagram you can see how many loops you need to add for other options.

In addition to the main pattern (shown in the diagram), 2 more patterns are used:

1. Garrier St: Knit only on all rows.
2. Pearl pattern: in the 1st row, alternating front and back loops, in the 2nd row above the front, knit the purl and vice versa.

How to knit?

Cast on 109 sts on regular needles. You need to take 2 threads of each type of yarn. Knit 3 cm pearl pattern. Then continue knitting using patterns A1 and A2. This is done in the following sequence: 2 edging with a pearl pattern, pattern A1 is knitted 17 times, 1 time - A2, and again 2edging pearl pattern. Knit 3 rapports in this way.

Separate the next part with 4 rows of garter stitch. Add in the second row 10 loops on each side, so that in the end there are 129 of them. Now you can start knitting the second pattern. To do this, knit 2 edging with a pearl pattern, then according to the A3 pattern for 5 loops, knit the A4 pattern 19 times, according to the A5 pattern for 6 loops and 2 edging pearl patterns. Do only 1 rep.

The following scheme of a mohair sweater with knitting needles is separated by 4 rows of garter stitch and 2 rows of front surface. Next, you need to continue according to pattern A6 in this way: 2 edge pearl patterns, 2 front loops (purl on the back), knit according to the A6 pattern 10 times, 2 more front loops (purl on the back) and again 2 edge pearl patterns. Knit 3 rapports.

Here you need to separate the pattern again with 2 rows of front surface and 4 rows of garter stitch. Now it only remains to repeat the already known drawings in reverse order. Using schemes A3, A4, A5, knit the next part in this way: 2 edging with a pearl pattern, according to pattern A3 for 5 loops, 19 times pattern A4, pattern A5 for 6 loops and 2 edging with a pearl pattern. There should be 2 such rapports.

Now it remains to make the last section of 4 rows of garter stitch, where in the second row you need to remove 10 loops. Only 109 of them will remain. Then the rapports are repeated according to the schemes A2 and A1. That is, you need to knit 2 edge loops with a pearl pattern, 17 times pattern A1, A2 for 3 loops and again 2 edge loops with pearlpattern. Make 3 rapports.

At the end, it only remains to knit 3 cm with pearl knitting. Close loops. Then sew sleeves and side seams together. On this, the original mohair sweater with knitting needles is ready. It remains only to stretch it, dry it and steam it. Surely such a beautiful openwork bolero will not hang in the closet for long: a reason will quickly turn up to put it on.
