So, the process of making a flower is quite simple, but requires perseverance and accuracy. If you interrupt it without collecting the rose to the end, the resulting blank will bloom. Forin order to make a medium-sized rose, you need a satin ribbon about a meter long and five centimeters wide. If the satin has not been rolled up, then it should be ironed out. If this is not done, the flower will turn out crumpled and sloppy.

Fold the ribbon in half lengthwise. Turn the bottom end at a right angle to the second half of the tape. Bend it so that it lies neatly over the formed corner. Now the second end of the tape is at the bottom. Fix the resulting square with your index finger to avoid blooming and deformation. We shift the lower end upward, bending it at the intersection of the ribbons. In this simple way, fold the entire ribbon until the tips are no more than five to six centimeters long.

Do not forget to constantly hold the resulting column. If it slips out of your hands and at least a little blossoms, everything will have to be done again. So, at the end you should get some kind of pigtail. Next, we intercept the intersection of the tapes with the thumb and forefinger and gently pull down one end, while not releasing the upper edge. The satin column will be shortened. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the end of the ribbon does not slip through the fingers, but, drawn into the bundle, forms a core. If you pull hard, the column will bloom, and the rosette will not work. The shape of a satin ribbon rose largely depends on the occasion. All flowers are different.

As soon asthe rosette (from your point of view) will take on its final form, fasten its base with a thread, and best of all, sew it so that it does not bloom. If you tighten too much, then it will turn out not very lush. In this case, it will have to be dissolved, ironed and done all over again. Satin ribbon roses can be decorated with transparent nylon fabric or small flowers and leaves.

Having mastered such an easy way to create fabric flowers, you can proceed to more ornate techniques. For example, Japanese kanzashi decorations include satin ribbon flowers. Their schemes are very simple, but the result is original and exclusive hairpins and headbands. In ancient times, jewelry made from satin ribbons was very much appreciated among secular ladies at royal courts. Court fashionistas decorated their outfits with separate large flowers and bouquets of small roses.
