What is biscornu? This is a small pillow used as a keychain, a needle holder or a cute interior detail that came to us from France. The word biscornu itself is translated as "curve", "absurd", "funny". In Russian, the pillow was called "krivushka" or "krivulka".

Biscornusewn from two parts of different shapes. The secret is how the halves are sewn together. On the Internet and thematic magazines, you can find various biscuit schemes. Let's dwell on them in more detail.

Types of biscuit and assembly scheme

There are many types of pillows in total, they all differ in shape:

Biscornu classic. It is sewn from two identical squares of fabric. First, a certain pattern is embroidered on them - with a cross, satin stitch, decorated with sequins or beads. The edges of the squares are embroidered with a "back to the needle" seam - this is one of the most important moments, since the pad is sewn along the seam. The squares are erased and carefully ironed. The corner of one of them joins the middle of the side of the second part. Then the krivulka is sewn on the sides. In this case, only the suture threads should be captured. The finished product is carefully stuffed with filler - foam rubber, cotton wool, synthetic winterizer, and is pulled together in the middle with a bead or button

Berlingo is one of the types of biscornu, the assembly scheme of which is somewhat different from its classic look. Initially, a rectangular piece of fabric is taken, on which a pattern and contour are embroidered with a backstitch seam ("back to the needle"). The finished product is washed and steamed. Next comes the most interesting - the short sides of the rectangle must be sewn together. Having reached the corner, you should continue to sew in the same direction. The second side must be folded perpendicular to the already sewn and connected along the seam. You can attach a ribbon to the corner of the berlingo

Pendibull. For this type of pillowone square should be embroidered. It is desirable that the pattern is on two opposite sides. As in previous cases, the finished work must be removed from the markup and ironed. Then the square must be folded diagonally and stitched. Sew the sharp corners of the resulting triangle together. The resulting curve will resemble a heart or a pyramid
