Corrugated paper is a material that is often used by needlewomen to create flowers, candy bouquets, topiaries, photo albums. It makes light and beautiful interior decorations: giant pompoms, garlands, balls. Wedding ceremonies, birthdays and other holidays are often decorated with this decor.

To transform a space, create an atmosphere at a party or a themed photo shoot, you can make corrugated paper balls yourself. It's not difficult, to make such an ornament you only need the paper itself, matching ribbons, scissors and a ruler. The corners of the pom-pom are cut out according to a template that is pre-made from cardboard. The blank looks like an elongated oval, it is necessary so that the edges are the same, and the pompom looks neat.

To create a ball with a diameter of 50 cm, you will need 13 sheets of paper. You can use different colors or make it solid.

Processmaking a pom-pom will look like this:

1. Cut the same rectangles, 50 x 70 cm in size and carefully stack them on top of each other, aligning the edges.
2. Press the long ruler parallel to the short side and begin to wrap the edge, bending the paper 4 cm.
3. Press with your hand until you get an even fold, then turn the sheets over, trying to make sure that they do not move, and bend from the back in the same way.
4. Repeat the procedure until we reach the end. You should get a "fan".
5. Take the ribbon to match and tie the middle of the "fan". Instead of a strip of fabric, you can use a thin wire with an eyelet to discreetly hang pompoms on a fishing line from the ceiling and create compositions.
6. By connecting the halves, we check whether we have found the middle correctly. If necessary, move the tape to the side so that the ball does not turn out to be crooked.
7. Tighten the knot.
8. Apply the stencil to the edge of the paper and cut out the tip along it at each crease. This will help make the edge neater. Repeat on the other side.
9. It remains to open the finished product: do it in layers. First on one side, then on the other, to make it symmetrical. We pull the paper layer by layer, trying not to tear.

How to open a large paper ball

To make corrugated paper balls fluffy, you should try to open the middle by pulling the edges. This will not be easy to do because of the many layers, so it's betterstart straightening the pompom when one side is ready. And only after full disclosure, pull the edges again. Now it remains to give the product a spherical shape: we find the middle and begin to straighten the folds, and then we take it by the ribbon and shake it with force. The pompom is ready!

Creating a small decorative balloon

Corrugated paper balls can be made smaller using a Styrofoam or papier-mâché round and glue. This method is so simple that even a child can handle it. For work, the remnants of paper left over from other products are suitable:

• cut into identical strips;
• stretch them a little from one edge;
• twist with a flagellum and stick on the workpiece (it is more convenient to use a glue gun for this);
• The next segment is folded in the same way and glued close to the previous one;
• repeat the procedure until we complete the craft entirely.

The corrugated paper balloons in the photo look better if they are hanging in the air. So that the finished product can be hung, glue a ribbon folded in half to it.

Paper balloons with flowers

It's a little more difficult to make flower balls out of crepe paper. For their design, you need to make special decor elements in advance. Paper flowers are created using various techniques: they are folded from petals, twisted from a long ribbon, cut out the same circles and fasten them in the center. In the manufacture of flower balls from corrugated paperdifferent buds can be combined to create unusual compositions.

Corrugated paper roses

The most popular plants for decorating decorative balls are roses. The easiest way to make them is this way:

1. Take a roll of corrugated paper, cut off about 50 cm from it.
2. Pull the piece to the sides, straightening the folds.
3. Fold it like an accordion to make 10 layers.
4. Take a glass or any other thing that can be circled with a pencil to make a circle. Moving it, draw some circles.
5. Cut out circles, make two holes in the center of each blank and pull the wire through them.
6. Twist the wire at the back and start spreading the petals to form a flower.

Such buds do not even need to be glued to the foam blank, just stick the flowers close to each other, filling the entire surface. Corrugated paper balls can also be decorated with simple double petals cut out according to a pattern, securing them in the center with a pin. This method is the fastest - it does not require additional fixation of parts with glue.
