Why corrugated paper is needed

To create such bouquets, it is advisable to take not just any, but corrugated paper. The fact is that it combines all those properties that are so well suited for creating such masterpieces. It is rough, it can be stretched, give it the desired shape. That is why tulips made of sweets and corrugated paper will look as natural as possible, and with the proper level of skill, everyone around will be amazed at your bouquet. If possible, buy better not ordinary, but special floral corrugated paper. It is denser than the first and holds its shape perfectly. You can find her inflorist shops. Corrugated paper comes in all sorts of colors and shades (even gold and silver).

If you are a beginner, you can buy just a couple of colors, for example, red for buds and green for legs and leaves. Advanced masters can be advised to experiment with shades: get several rolls of paper of the same color, but different pigmentation, for example, from hot pink to pastel. With their help, you can create gradient bouquets of extraordinary beauty.

Candy tulips: master class

The first step is to create tulip buds. In our master class, they will be yellow. Are you ready to create candy and crepe paper tulips? Great, let's get started!

  1. Cut the paper into strips with scissors. Please note: this must be done along the corrugation lines, as shown in the photo below. Roll sizes vary. A standard ordinary roll can be divided into strips of 3 cm and then cut into 3 parts. Then we get the size we need.

  4. Next, you need to fold the strip in half as shown in the photo. At the same time, you need to gently push the paper with your fingers so that it bends a little, forming a shape that looks like a petal. Do what needs to be donenumber of blanks and set them aside. One such element will later become one tulip petal. Their number can be different, from three pieces or more. Depending on how many petals you make, you will get different buds - from modest to very lush.

Working with the flower stem and assembling the tulip

Candies for tulips are best taken in small, oblong shapes, in an amount equal to the number of future flowers. It will be easier to make a flower with them. But if you don’t have others, then you can try to make both with a round shape and with a truffle. So, step number 2 of our master class is to create a flower stem. Shall we start?

  1. The first step is to attach the candy to a long wooden skewer. To do this, take a green floral tape and wrap one edge of the candy wrapper very tightly with a skewer. If you don’t have such a tape in your arsenal, then this can be done using ordinary tape or a strong thread.

  2. Now we make tulips from corrugated paper, or rather, we form buds from petal blanks. To do this, take them in your hands and distribute them around the candy. Secure with tape or thread. If it is difficult to do this with three or more blanks at once, then it will be more correct to wrap each petal separately with a thread. So they will not go anywhere and it will be easier for you to control the process.

  3. The bud is ready, we just need to wrap its base and the entire leg with green floral tape. So the leg will look just like the real one! Again, if you don't have tape, replace it with a thin strip of green crepe paper. Put glue on the edge of the skewer or attach a small piece of double-sided tape. Then wrap the green strip around the base of the bud and down to the end of the stem. If it seems to you that the stem of the flower turned out to be thin, just wrap it with paper or teip tape in two layers, and not in one. You should get such beautiful tulips too.

Formation of the bouquet and its final decoration

So you already have the right amount of colors. How do you put them in a basket? It's very simple.

  1. Cut out the foam to fit the bottom of the basket.
  2. Use double-sided tape to attach the Styrofoam to the bottom of the container.
  3. Decorate the foam with something on top: crepe paper, pretty fabric. Almost everything will do, as long as it is beautiful!
  4. We stick ready-made tulips from sweets and corrugated paper into the foam plastic, starting from the middle of the future bouquet.
