What do you need for this?

First, prepare the materials and tools that will be useful in your work:

- skein of twine;

- glue gun;

- beautiful braid;

- satin ribbon;

- ordinary threads and woolen red;

- needle;

- accessories (for example, sequins and beads);

- fabric for making clothes;

- scissors;

- small artificial fruits and a shampoo cap for the basket your Christmas goat will hold.

Where to start?

Wrap the main rope around the base. It can be a rectangular piece of cardboard or a small book. Remove the resulting ring and cut it on one side. Drag the resulting bundle in the middle with a red woolen thread.

In the same place, attach a separate piece of twine. Then fold the workpiece in half and, stepping back a little from the bend, wrap it across the newly tied piece of twine. The top of this composition will be the muzzle of our animal.

The whole do-it-yourself goat is formed as follows. Divide the threads hanging freely into even halves and proceed to create separate parts of the body. Also cut 24 identical strips from the rope.

Working on details

Weave one braid of 12 strands and two more - each of six. The first part will serve to create handsfigurines, and the rest you use to form the ears and horns. Thus, you will get a real twine goat. The master class to achieve this goal advises the following steps.

Fold one of the small braids into a figure eight and secure it with a thread in the middle so that it holds its shape. You have ears. Insert them together with the second thin braid (these will be the horns) into the bun prepared earlier.

Wrap the part of the workpiece under them with a couple of turns of twine, thread the finished handles into it and secure them. The do-it-yourself goat is almost ready. Now you need to put it on the top cut off from the bottle and start making the skirt.

Decorating

Take a small piece of fabric and go over its edge with the simplest seam. Pull on the ends of the thread to tighten the pattern and form a cone. Sheathe the lower edge of the product with braid, decorate it with beads, appliqué or any other decorative elements. Put the finished skirt on the figure and fasten the thread around the waist.

Your Christmas goat should have eyes. They can be made from small cardboard circles: draw colored pupils on a white background with a marker, cut out the blank and glue it. Also, ceramic clay is perfect as a material, from which you can mold any figures. Alternatively, sew on two beads or buttons.

Making a goat

You can also make a pair of a goat for your pet. It must be made from braids of different thicknesses. So, for the body you will need 25 cuts, for the hands - two dozen, for the ears and horns - 6 each, respectively.

Braid separately all these groups of ropes, except for the body. Rewind the edges tightly. Trim the edges with scissors to make them look neat and cut off any excess. Now let's move on to work on the muzzle. Attach a few ropes to the central part of the remaining bundle (this will be the beard) and rewind them with red thread (mouth).

Then we move on to the formation of the head. Fold the workpiece in half and smooth it out. Without touching the freely hanging strands of the beard, tie the main bun in the upper part. Now bend the pigtail for the ears into a figure-eight and insert it between the strands. These will be the ears. Pass the future horns through there.

Gather the resulting composition together, smooth andcorrect its elements in such a way that your head is formed. Secure the structure by wrapping the area under it with thread. Apply it in a layer, about a centimeter or two wide (you will get a neck) and, without cutting the thread, proceed to the next step. Insert the arm braid into the body (the goat's diagram will show you how to do it right) and continue wrapping to form the body.

Finishing touches

New twine crafts should be not only beautiful, but also sustainable. To make the legs for the goat, after finishing work with the torso, braid the remaining threads at the bottom into two pigtails. Turn them in and wrap them completely. To make the animal more dense, you can add several layers of rope covering to its body, or even put some synthetic winterizer under them.
