Those who have children of different ages are concerned about another serious problem: carnival costumes for kindergarten and school matinees.
So that you have at least one point less to worry about, in this article we will think together and decide how to sew or make a king costume for a boy from available improvised means. What is good about this outfit? It is equally suitable for a baby of 4-5 years old, and a teenage boy from 12 to 14. That is, all mothers with sons, from the middle group of kindergarten to the 7th grade of high school, can learn a lot of useful things for themselves information and take advantage of the ideas. After all, a king's costume for a boy is an ideal version of a really bright, elegant, spectacular attire. ATIn the romantic image of a young monarch, your child will be comfortable, comfortable, pleasant. And you will successfully apply many of its details for the next carnival show.
The principle of analogy
Agree that the costume of the king for the boy is really similar to the outfits of a musketeer, pirate, Puss in Boots, Marquis of Carabas. They require white shirts or blouses, lace shirt-fronts and cuffs, capes, over the knee boots. Thus, having made one version of the New Year's "outfit", you can continue to use the existing developments. So it turns out that a king costume for a boy is an ideal solution to the problem with a carnival costume in general for several years to come.
We think, we discuss, we propose
Of course, the easiest option is to buy all the necessary accessories in a regular store or order online. But after all, a thing that is selected in size often still has to be adjusted to a specific figure, and it does not always sit well. Therefore, let's try to make the king's costume with our own hands. Its components: ordinary black trousers or sewn pantaloons, you can have knee-length or mid-calf pants, grabbed at the bottom with elastic bands and trimmed with lace. White shirt, as an option - mother's or sister's blouse with long sleeves. It should be spacious enough, with an overlap, therefore, it is especially possible not to take in, as it will be tucked into trousers. If you make a king’s suit, sewn with your own hands, with short trousers, you should take care ofwhite stockings (tights are also suitable for a small child) and shoes with buckles or high boots. Plus, of course, a mantle (cape), a crown or hat with a plume, a sword on a belt or in a sling.
Starting with shoes
Homemade carnival costumes, as a rule, are especially difficult when it comes to shoes. With girls, however, it is easier in this matter. But we also solve it for the guys. Royal shoes can be black or dark brown. If they are already old, battered, you can add shine by pasting over with golden or silver foil - of course, this is for the king from kindergarten. Be sure to make large buckles. You can use flexible wire to make blanks, which are then covered with a golden cloth and attached to the shoes. If the royal carnival costumes require boots, we suggest doing so. Bring your child's winter shoes (we are talking about boots and half boots, as other types are not suitable) to perfect cleanliness and shine, mask existing scuffs and other defects with cream or wax. From cardboard, cut out the lapels, like over the knee boots. Paint over with silver or bronze paint and fasten it to your son's boots. You can do this with double-sided tape.
Working with a cape
Christmas costume of the king for a boy without a cape does not happen. You can also sew it in different ways. This is either a long (almost to the toe) cape-cloak, trimmed at the collar, floors and bottom with “ermine”, or short, up tomid thighs. The color of the mantle can be blue, blue, red. As a rule, it should match the color of the pantaloons. You can even use the same material - velvet, thick curtain silk or satin. The main condition is that the cape should look rich, elegant. The dimensions of the cloth are approximately 1-1.5 meters by 2. Having made a pattern and cut the material into blanks, stitch the mantle with your hands or a machine, sew on the trim. Instead of fur, a white edging is suitable, which can be corrected with a black felt-tip pen by applying “specks”. It is this cape that most fairy-tale monarchs from films wear. If mom knows how to sew, and there is some free time, you can still decorate the mantle with Christmas tree rain to make it shine more for His Majesty, because this is the king's carnival costume!
A few words about the crown
Here, no one should have any difficulties. Making a royal crown - what could be easier! A sheet of cardboard is taken so wide that it wraps around the head with a margin. You choose the height of the dress yourself. With a simple pencil, draw the teeth, trying to be the same. And cut out the workpiece. Connect the ends into a circle with paper clips or glue. Paint the crown with bronze paint or cover with foil. To make the costume of the children's king have a more “regal” look, stick beads, rhinestones or pieces of rain on the headdress. If a wide-brimmed hat or a royal beret is more suitable for you, take care to decorate them with a large brooch and feathers - one is enough for a beret, for a hat you needthe plume is more magnificent. You can buy feathers in a sewing accessories store. Or use a lush Christmas tree rain instead. The latter is even preferable, as it is more in line with the New Year's surroundings.
How to make a sword
For a sword, you need a fairly long, at least a meter, wooden lath or window glazing bead. They should be rather finely planed, cleaned with sandpaper and painted with silver. As a handle, a regular tin can lid or plastic lid is suitable. They will need to be “ennobled” with foil and rain. If wood materials are not available, pick up a piece of steel wire and wrap it in silver foil. True, both types of swords are not entirely desirable for kings from kindergarten or elementary school. For them, parents can cut out this symbol of noble honor from the same cardboard. To prevent the sword from being wrinkled and accidentally torn, make two identical blanks and glue them together. Make the handle also cardboard. And paint everything with regular gouache paints.
