Tulle is a fabric created almost 200 years ago in the USA: in the 30s of the 19th century, ballet costumes were sewn from it. The production of nylon tulle was launched. The first samples of the fabric were white, only petticoats and tutus were sewn from them. The famous ballerina of that time, Maria Taglioni, was the first to perform in such a tutu before the general public.

In the future, when the technology was complicated and many shades of tulle appeared, the designers took it into service and created a hugenumber of new clothing styles.

Types of tulle

Tulle fabric can be matte or glossy, sprayed or embroidered, of varying degrees of hardness. The palette of shades is very rich.

The feature of the material that distinguishes it from others is that it has a mesh structure resembling a fishing net. Cell sizes determine stiffness. Tulle is a very durable fabric due to the nylon content, but the thicker the mesh, the tougher it is. There are 3 main degrees of hardness:

2. Medium hard - has a slight sheen. From it you can sew tutu skirts, tutus, dresses for weddings, parties. They make "skirts" for tables and chairs from it, decorate windows, arches. They take it to decorate the cars of the wedding procession, decorate balloons with it.
3. Soft tulle is a material that has a delicate matte sheen. It is very pleasant to the touch. It is widely used in children's clothing. This includes such common types of fabric as Eurotulle Luxe and Eurotulle Life. Luxe has less shine, does not stretch. Life is more "silky", stretches across the entire width of the panel, less slippery.

Use area

Since this fabric has almost unique properties,in the modern world, it has found the widest application.

Really wonderful material: very resilient, almost no wrinkling, does not shrink when washed, very durable. The mesh surface of tulle is difficult to get dirty. It is almost weightless, so it is used for the decoration of banquet halls.

It occurs quite often: in clothes, when creating underwear, in the interior, New Year's costumes, jewelry, etc.

Carnival costume for girls

For children's parties, modern mothers are very fond of dressing up their charming girls in dresses based on tulle.

So, for the skirt we need: fabric (a square cut of Luxe eurotulle with sides of 3 m), a wide elastic band or a mesh elastic band.

Tulle Care

Is it difficult to care for the fabric? Airy "fluffy" skirts and other products made of tulle can be easily washed in warm water. For washing (only by hand!) use a mild gel or a special shampoo. Rinse the item several times until the water runs clear. At the last rinse, add a rinse conditioner to the water so that the product does not accumulate static electricity, since tulle is synthetic. In no case do not squeeze - this can damage the structure of the fabric. The material dries very quickly, you just need to gently straightenfolds. You can and should iron, but at the very minimum and using a humidifier.
