Preparation for work

For work, we should prepare:

- Paper strips with a width of 3 mm, a length of 27 cm. Colors: blue, dark blue, gray and blue-gray.

- One 3 cm wide paper strip, blue or dark blue.

- Background paper (you can choose the color yourself, but you need to make sure it is in harmony with the future horse).

- From the tools, prepare: a thin awl, small scissors, PVA glue, miniature tweezers with elongated ends, andthermal gun.

- A 20 x 20 cm frame. The base should be cardboard and measure 17 x 17. In addition, the mat should be rounded and have a diameter of 13-14 cm.

Getting Started

The first step is to make twigs, leaves, and - most importantly - poinsettia flowers. To create a blue flower, take sixteen whole stripes and twist them into an "eye" shape. Next, try to give the resulting figure the shape of the English letter S. Using a thermal gun, glue together eight petals in one tier. Repeat the same steps with the next petal. After that, connect the 2 tiers with a slight offset of the petals and glue them together. Glue a thick roll of one-third blue stripes to the middle.

To make a small flower of gray-blue color, you should carefully wind 15-16 elements from one second strip. The shape remains the same - the “eye”, a figure similar to the letter S. You need to collect such a flower in the same way as the first one. Only there is a nuance - the middle will consist of a gray roll of one second strip. Now you need to take on the leaves. We will cut them out of strips with a width of three cm. To make it symmetrical, first fold the paper in half and draw a neat outline on it, “by eye”. After that, carefully cut out half a sheet. Using tweezers, create small veins from the edge to the fold line of the leaf. And now you can open the blank - a beautiful leaf is ready! Ten beautiful leaves will bequite enough. Do not forget to add variety to them - each sheet should be of a different size.

Make twigs

To make twigs, you need to twist leaves from eight whole strips. They should be blue or dark blue in color and resemble the shape of a "droplet". Then gently squeeze them along the edge of the outline to make a houndstooth shape. Next, we glue them in two layers, covering them with blue or gray. Remember that five leaves should go to one branch, and only three to the second. You can change this option with your own great idea.

To begin with, we take 50-80 pieces of light gray stripes and wind various elements used in quilling - these are “eyes”, “drop”, “triangles”, “crescents. To create a beautiful picture, you need to make these elements of different sizes. Now we begin to fill the “inside” - carefully glue the elements with each other “backs” or “sides” using PVA glue. What face will the horse have? quillingembodies ideas

Now we are making a face for the horse. We make eyes - for this, cut out a small circle from dark paper or tightly twist one strip of paper. It remains only to glue it in the right place. For a change, it is even allowed to add eyelashes by cutting the paper into three or five mm into small strips. If you add two ears, you get a real horse. Quilling provides a lot of opportunities for creativity. When creating the ears, choose the color of the horse and wrap them with a dark stripe in two or three layers. The front part of the muzzle is made by twisting two strips with a bend of four to five mm and punching. Thus, it will turn out not just a roll, but an ellipsoid. Glue on it lips and nostrils cut out of paper in the same way as the eyes.

With a tail prepared in advance, our horse will look brighter and more original. Quilling will help organize this difficult task. First, it is recommended to cut a wide strip of fringe, about three cm. Leave one end uncut - this will need to be carefully twisted into a roll. Don't forget to fluff up the hanging ends and glue them in place. It's time to create the colorful mane. Be patient and wind about 80-90 pieces of stripes of gray-blue or just blue. The shape should match the "eye" and be as strong as possible. Do not forget to shape the letter S. The finished mane must be glued from the very top to the back.

Horse assembly
