The tradition of creating flower arrangements from improvised materials has existed for a long time. Even in ancient Egypt, women decorated their clothes, hairstyles and homes with artificial flowers. In the Middle Ages in European countries, the nobility entertained themselves with the manufacture of floral decorations, diversifying their leisure time, and at the end of the 18th century this “hobby” was put on a serial basis, the most needy were engaged in it. The work was painstaking, hard, low-paid and extremely unhe althy, because in the production process one often had to deal with even mercury. Today it is a diverse process that allows you to realize your creative potential in search of beauty, harmony and originality through quite different techniques. Particularly popular are jewelry in which there is a fabric flower in combination with other materials: beads, ribbons, braid, beads, rhinestones, copper wire and others.
The beauty of manual creativity is in the singularity of the result
The industry offers consumers a wide range of ready-made floral decorations for clothing and interiors. Butcompositions made by hand in a single, exclusive version are much more valuable. There are several basic ways to create a fabric flower.
Tailored fabric flower
This is one of the easiest ways to create fabric flower decorations, where the main element is patterns of different sizes and shapes. Flowers are created from several fragments of different colors or textures, assembled together with glue or simply sewn together. The photographs show different options for jewelry made in this way.
Fabric flower made from ribbons or textile cuts
Option one - from ready-made satin ribbons. To make it, the finished ribbon is simply wrapped in the hands around the central fragment, twisted in a special way and periodically fixed with a needle and thread, which creates a reliable imitation of a real rose. The process is shown in a series of pictures.
The second option is from a piece of fabric. To make such a flower, a narrow long flap is cut off (the width directly depends on the desired size of the finished flower), then the strip is folded in half lengthwise, the open sections are gathered with a “needle forward” seam on the thread and slightly pulled together, the “gathered” tape is folded into a flower and first fixed with a needle, and then glued to a cardboard, metal or plastic blank. It is possible to execute this option from a single-layer cut, one cut of fabricwhich is figuratively carved, imitating petals. Here is a photo illustrating this kind of flower art.
Fabric flower - we collect a bud from individual petals
The essence of this method is clear from the name itself. According to various templates, petals of different sizes are made, each one is either folded in a certain way, or stitched in a certain way according to the pattern. Then the finished petals are assembled into the final flower design. Here is an example of such work.
All of the previously listed methods are the easiest to make, and this photo shows a bouquet of fabric flowers, the manufacture of which already requires decent skills in working with fabrics and certain technological knowledge of the process from its creator.
Origami technique in relation to the manufacture of flower arrangements
A very popular and spectacular way of bouquet "handicraft" is origami - a flower made of paper. The simplest forms of buds can be created from a single sheet, more complex ones involve the manufacture of separate fragments, which are then assembled into the final paper bud.
Here are examples of whole magical compositions that can easily decorate any interior. The main constituent fragment of each such bouquet is a separate origami flower.
The beauty of artificial fabric, paper or any other compositions that imitate bouquets of natural flowers is their durability, relative to their living counterparts. In addition to the fact that, using such flowers in your interior or in the decoration of clothes, you do not loot in your flower beds, you are also deprived of the displeasure of seeing the gradual dying of once living flowers. And artificial analogues will delight the eye for a long time and warm the soul with the warmth invested in the process of creating each of its individual elements.
