Polyamide is a fabric made from fibers of synthetic origin obtained as a result of the interaction of various solutions and polyamide alloys. Most often, aliphatic polyamides are used to obtain such a material.
The production of various fabrics based on polyamide was established in the late 60s of the last century. Already in those years, fabrics were saturated with various aromas and gave them a very high heat resistance.
Nowadays, products made from this fabric are very popular all over the world, as its properties help clothes to keep a beautiful look for a long time. Among all the advantages, one can especially highlight good breathability. Polyamide is the fabric most commonly used for sportswear as it is strong, lightweight and soft.
In order for polyamide fabric to meet certain requirements, it is made using a specially developed technology, which includes three stages:
- The formation of the fibers themselves.
- Polymer synthesis.
- Textile processing.
Polyamide - fabric properties
Among the special characteristics of the polymer fabric can be noted high tensile strength or other impact loads, as well as wear resistance. Polyamide is a fabric that is very resistant to any chemical or biochemical reagents. It does not lose its properties when exposed to temperatures from 80 to 150 degrees, which distinguishes it quite strongly from some other types of fabrics. Various stabilizers that are used in the production of polyamide fibers serve as guarantors of the high quality of the manufactured products. Each such fiber has an increased sensitivity to electrical influences (for example, static). Therefore, polyamide is a fabric that loses its resistance to thermal and oxidative effects, as well as to light radiation (ultraviolet radiation). To correct such shortcomings, special stabilizers are introduced into the composition of the material.
Polyamide fabric is in very high demand in the manufacture of goods for
wide consumption, such as: rubber products, ropes, fishing tackle, filter materials and more. Textured threads, which are part of the polyamide fabric in their origin, are also in great demand.
Now polyamide thread is produced in the form of continuous spools or staple fibers, which are called differently in different countries.
Of course, certain technical rules should always be observed during operation so that the polyamide fabric does notlost her qualities. For example, it can be washed in an automatic machine, but observing the maximum temperature regime of 40 degrees Celsius. The spin and dry mode in special devices must be avoided. After washing, the polyamide fabric will dry itself in a fairly short time, which is a good property of the material. Items with added polyamide fibers should be ironed on the lowest heat setting and without steam.
