What is an applique?
The concept itself meanscutting and connecting certain elements to the base. It can be paper, leather, fabric, beads, felt, stones or beads. The basis can be paper, cardboard or fabric.
From other types of creativity, the application is distinguished by the variety of methods of implementation, the ability to bring any fantasy to life. It happens:
- Flat/3D.
- Single or multicolor.
- Thematic (decorative value or performed in a specific storyline).
The most popular in our time is the applique on clothes made of beads. You can buy it ready-made in the store, and sew it on your favorite thing or do it yourself. This will make it unique and inimitable, and the child will easily distinguish his clothes from someone else's.
In the process of creating a picture of beads, a person is completely immersed in the creative process and rests mentally and physically. DIY beaded applique is a kind of relaxation method.
Embroidery on T-shirt
This thing is in the wardrobe of every person of any age, and it is very easy to make it unique. To achieve an excellent result, it is necessary to take into account the color scheme. If the T-shirt is plain, you need to choose the winning color (black and gold, orange and cherry, yellow and purple) and think over the future ornament. It can be something elementary (heart, circle, flower outline) or a drawing. The choice depends on the level of training of the person.
The drawing you like must be drawn (translated) onto the fabric and stitched with beads. Dothis can be on the T-shirt itself, or on a separate piece of fabric, which is then sewn to the clothes.
Beadwork - applique can be placed on any part - collar, sleeves, chest. Finishing will make the T-shirt unique, because the second one will definitely not be the same. Beaded appliqué for children is also possible.
Embroidered collar
With such a simple technique, you can give things a new look, from everyday to festive. The collar on any product (sweater, turtleneck, dress) can be decorated with beaded applique or embroidered with individual beads.
Beaded can be used to decorate knitwear or thick fabrics, it will look great everywhere. When performing a pattern, you need to monitor the thread tension so that there is no sagging or crumpling. To avoid this, it is necessary to fasten the beads with a knot after each completed element from the wrong side.
How to make an applique from beads
To complete the application, you need paper, a pencil, beads, a needle, threads, scissors and interlining. First you need to select the desired drawing, draw (translate) it on paper. After that, select the desired beads (color). When buying, you need to pay attention to the manufacturer and cost, the cheaper one can be of different sizes. Beads will have to be sorted during appliqué and this will slow down the work considerably.
Cut out a piece of the required size from non-woven fabric and glue it to the wrong side with an ironproducts. This will make the appliqué stronger and more durable.
When the preparatory stage is over, it is worth starting the application itself. We transfer the drawing to a fabric or product and proceed to embroidery.
Thread the thread into a special needle with a blunt end, on one side we tie a knot. During operation, it is very important to do all the knots from the inside out. We string the necessary beads on the needle, and sew it to the fabric. Thus, we do several repetitions and fix the pattern from the inside out.
How to sew on beads
There are several stitch options for beaded appliqué. In some works, it is necessary to sew on one bead, there are several ways to do this. The first is to perform a simple stitch, the second is to put a sequin under the bead (will add volume), the third is to use smaller beads. Single embroidery elements must be secured with a knot.
A number of beads can be sewn with different types of seams, the choice depends on the number of beads used and the complexity of the chosen ornament.
Seam "forward needle" - the needle goes to the front, the bead is strung, the needle goes to the wrong side. Punctures should be done close to each other. Repeat as many times as needed.
The "lowercase" seam is performed as the previous one, but at the end it is necessary to repeat it in the opposite direction along the already attached beads (through their center).
Stalked stitch - the needle goes to the front part, two beads are strung, the needle goes inside out near the second. Then she comes between them andit is threaded through the second, the first is strung, and the needle goes inside out. Thus, each element of the application will be stitched twice. The finished product will be very dense.
Stitch "arched" - according to the style of execution, it completely repeats the "stem stitch", differs only in the number of beads used at a time. You need to string from 4 to 6 beads on the thread and you can fix it in different parts of the embroidery. This method will make the finished application more airy.
Tack Stitch - one of the easiest embroidery methods, suitable for making curls, snails and for quick filling of the canvas. You need to take a thread of the required length, string beads on it, fix the edge. Place this thread on the product, take another needle with thread and sew on a beaded line. You need to make small stitches between the beads at equal intervals.
Seam "monastic" - similar to semi-cross stitch. The needle goes to the front side, the bead is strung and diagonally goes to the wrong side, then the needle goes down (vertically) and goes to the face. Repeat as many times as needed.
To perform a three-dimensional pattern, beads can be sewn in several rows.
The needle for work should be with a narrow eye and a blunt end. This will allow you to easily string beads of any size without pricking your fingers.
Threads should be chosen to match the thing on which the application will be located. For stretchy products, you can use a thread-elastic band, this will allow the bead pattern to stretch along with the canvas.
