How to make this costume?

The sequence of actions is as follows:

  1. Tulle cut into strips 15 cm wide.
  2. The headband is the bodice of the dress. From it you need to make a fluffy skirt. To do this, fold the blue fabric in half, pull the resulting loop into the hole at the bottom of the bandage, then thread the long end of the tulle ribbon into it, thereby fixing it securely. Repeat this step until the skirt is full and full.
  3. Similarly, make 2 wide straps of the desired length from white fabric, but already fastening them over the headband.
  4. Then cover the base of the bodice with tulle. To do this, put the dress on the child, and wrap the white fabric around the chest so that it does not sit too tight, but does not fall off either. Tie it in a knot at the back and secure with a hair clip in front.
  5. It remains to add the crown, and the cute Cinderella costume is ready.

For older girls

This outfit is easy to adapt to different ages of the child. For example, this Cinderella costume for a girl is made according to the same principle, but with slight changes:

So, for the bodice, you will have to buy separately elastic openwork fabric, sew jewelry brooches to the base of the dress and, to complete the look, make an elegant black necklace (measure the satin ribbon of the desired length and sew Velcro at the ends).

To make the skirt even more beautiful, you can use tulle in severalshades of blue, with sparkles or sequins.

Working order

This Cinderella costume comes in two independent pieces that you can use with other pieces to create a variety of dressy looks. So, we make its upper part:

  1. Using measurements 1, 2 and 3, cut out a rectangle with a pointed ledge on the bottom edge so that the bodice of the dress is shaped like a Cinderella dress corset. It is advisable to make the blank a couple of centimeters larger than necessary so that the child has time to wear the suit before it grows out of it, and be sure to add 2 cm of seam allowance.
  2. We glue the cotton lining with adhesive non-woven fabric so that the dress is comfortable to wear, does not irritate the skin and keeps its shape well.
  3. Seam the edges and sew on the Velcro on the sides.
  4. We make straps 5 cm wide and 23 cm long. It is also advisable to use a lining so that theykept their shape and did not rub shoulders. And the easiest way to find the optimal length is by sewing one edge of the straps to the front of the dress, and putting it on the child.
  5. Now we make puffy sleeves. Lay blue tulle over light lilac tulle, make a fluffy strip about 25 cm wide, sew it in the center. Then attach it to the middle of the bodice of the dress.
  6. To keep the sleeves free of movement, try on the dresses again and lay the fabric so that it lies fluffy and comfortable. Then stitch it on the back, at a distance of about 5 cm from the fastener. Trim the remaining ends of the tulle, fold over and sew again.

Dress bottom

We make a puffy skirt, which will come in handy more than once for a little princess. Here the work also consists of two stages:

  1. We make a petticoat from blue fabric. To do this, we cut out a rectangle with a length equal to measure No. 4 (the length of the skirt from the waist to the feet), and to determine the width, you need to multiply the waist circumference by 2. Do not forget the seam allowance. In addition, when determining the length, keep in mind that the edge of the skirt should completely hide under the bodice of the dress and not pop out when moving. Therefore, the waist should be slightly high.
  2. Cut off a piece of a wide elastic band so that it sits freely on the belt with a slightstretching (so that the dress does not immediately become small and lasts longer).
  3. We process the lower edge of the skirt, sew it in height. And on top we make a drawstring, wide enough to thread the elastic. Insert it and stitch the edges.
  4. Now we make a tulle skirt. To do this, simply sew it to the elastic, while stretching it and picking up the tulle so that it does not tear in the sock.
